As part of President Donald Trump's corrupt settlement with the government he oversees to create a slush fund that would permit payouts to cronies and supporters using $1.776 billion of tax payer money, Trump, his family, and his business received additional, unprecedented legal immunity.

The US government, which, again, ultimately reports to Donald Trump, formally agreed to grant immunity to Trump, his family, and his business for any tax action the IRS or any other US agency was or could have been prosecuting or investigating prior to May 19, 2026. This includes "any matters pending or that could be pending (including tax returns files before the Effective Date) before Defendants or other agencies or departments."

This essentially means the US government is legally promising to never investigate or prosecute Trump, his family, and businesses for any illegal tax activity they committed any time before May 19, 2026, no matter how blatant or significant. For instance, if Trump or his company committed tax fraud and owe the government, oh, I don't know, $100 million, the government is promising that it can never do anything about it.

As you can see, the letter was signed by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. This is the man who greenlit the preposterous political indictment against former FBI Director James Comey. Blanche directly reports to Donald Trump and has not been approved by the Senate. His hope of being appointed as Attorney General depends entirely on Trump's whims. We can all rest easy knowing that he surely agreed to this settlement with his boss, the man who holds his career in his hands, after impartial deliberation and in good faith.

This settlement between Trump and the US government is probably the most corrupt thing to occur in almost 250 years of American history. Not only does it grant Trump and his appointees authority to pay out almost $2 billion in tax payer money to whomever they want for whatever reasons they want, it functions as a Monopoly get-out-of-jail-free card for Trump and those closest to him for any tax law crimes or violations they have ever committed. So foul was the settlement and creation of the slush fund that the Treasury Department's top lawyer resigned.

You, the regular guy, can face serious trouble for accidentally underpaying your taxes, including wage garnishment. Donald Trump, his business, and his family, can have intentionally lied to the IRS and failed to pay millions in taxes and face zero repercussions.

This is corruption in its purest and most blatant form. Only a cultish devotee could learn about this settlement (if they even hear the truth of it from their Trump-supporting "news" sources) and believe it is a reasonable and just response to "lawfare" or government "weaponization" or whatever.

There are two sets of laws in this country. One for Trump and those closest to him, and one for the rest of us. If you are a prominent enough (i.e., someone who can do something significant for him) Trump supporter or enabler, you may also get to play by the same rules as Trump. As for regular people, including most of his supporters, you will be made to comply with the laws on the books. You will be made to pay taxes and face penalties if you do not. You will be made to suffer under his policies while he and those around him enrich themselves.

Trump does not care about you. He cares only about himself and those closest to him, and he is making very, very little effort to hide it.
